Hey you, it’s not a Sunday and I’m in your inbox. Specially for whoever needs it today, and if not you not today, save it for another day!

How Teddy Became Himself
Without eyes, before he was really him, he was found in a bag of my did-not-finish pile of half sewn doll parts.
He already had in him, who he was meant to be. He jsut had yet to be.
He had one job
He was made to stand, that was his mandate.
He succeeded.
He did exceedingly well.
He did well but made no difference
I abandoned him, like he was a one-time-use instrument.
With curiosity, Lunarian asked, why isn’t he finished.
Lunarian doesn’t care about my experiment or my intellectual exercise.
He was genuinely concerned for the eyeless little teddy.
Teddy here was an experiment in making cloth stand without armature, without additional support, without even a proper seam in place.
One falls but many stand
He was a test for my hypothesis that many stitches and panels will hold one another together against their individual nature.
He was a tool in my art for anarchism. I did what I stand against.
What is life
In my hands, the bear shape felt stiff. It was lifeless.
Because I never treated it as it was alive.
Over the next few days, I forced myself to work with teddy. Touch, listen, play. Each stitch was a deliberate decision. Stitches were chaotic, long and short, deep and shallow. They were alive.
Teddy too came alive.
A Heart Beat is music
Lunarian insisted Teddy whispered he wanted a harmonica.
No harm trying.
We gave him a harmonica, that looks like a burrito, made from the same fabric as his right arm, stitched to his right arm.
The whole idea is so absurd, I can’t even continue typing.
But it felt right and the proof is that Teddy immediately got his name—Good Jovi.
Jovi has started his 2 piece band—Good Jovi and his harmonica Burrito. They are never apart. They never want to be apart. And, actually they can’t.

Adoption
Good Jovi & Burrito are available for adoption. Reply to this mail or DM me on substack or ig.
via direct message
As you might have noticed I’ve done away with my website for a few months now. I felt like I was keeping a mechanical beast for a job I much prefer doing myself, DM to DM, human to human.
Human to human
My shoulders are relaxed since I have had a chance to interact with people who adopt my beakies. It is heartening to learn about why and what they love before sending my beakies away.
First of series of quick Beakie guide
I’m putting together a series of quick beakie guides. I’m still figuring out how to present the information in a clear manner that keeps the human in the exchange.
First of the series shows the different sizes beakies grow into and their prices. Depending on when you clicked this, additional information might have been added.
